The West Kootenay Early Years Conference Committee would like to congratulate our Exceptional Early Childhood Educator and Exceptional Childcare Provider award nominees. The West Kootenay Early Years Conference is dedicated to early childhood educators and early years professionals. It is held every second year in our region. The 2016 conference Deepening Community: From the Inside Out, took place in Rossland on April 22 and 23.
A long-standing part of the West Kootenay Early Years Conference is the Exceptional Early Childhood Educator and Exceptional Family Child Care Provider award ceremony. Early years professionals are nominated by the families and/or staff that they work with, for their outstanding contributions to children and families in our communities. The 2016 Exceptional Early Childhood Educator award nominees were: Nicola Forrester, Lara Kirk, Ali Walker, Akka Bekker, Danielle Lamoureux, Carole-Ann Clavet, Jayme Casler, Kathy Sutherland, Heike Reeg-Smith, Hilary Chayko and Ashley Burns.
This 2016 Exceptional Family Child Care Provider award nominees were: Tracy McCallum, Maggie Mulvihill, Sheilagh Lane, Jennifer Buchan, Yvonne Watt and Leanne Shurparski.
