Scottish singer-songwriter Simon Kempston has toured the world performing his highly original, contemporary acoustic songs and music. Now, he comes to Taghum Hall on Thursday, July 4 at 7:30pm as part of the Taghum Hall Presents performance series.
Known for his distinctive, intricate fingerstyle guitar work and his gently nuanced, compelling tenor vocals, Kempston has performed in 37 countries, including many major festivals. An inspiring, poetic lyricist, Simon’s impassioned live performances showcase timeless songwriting interspersed with humorous worldly tales for an utterly engaging evening.
In a review of his 2023 CD, You Can’t Win Every Time, The Scotsman Herald wrote: “Simon Kempston remains a beguiling talent, his poetic, expressive songs weaving around his impressively fluid acoustic guitar work. Entire worlds are compressed into his songs.”
“Despite the album’s title, having Simon Kempston at Taghum Hall is a big win for all of us!” says events coordinator Heather Haake. “Personally, I can hardly wait.”
